This gallery contains photographs shot by Roland L. Freeman in various times,
in various locales. Some are from assignments; others were spontaneously shot in settings serendipitously found. Each of these images is meant to capture a moment and evoke a sense of time and place.
Most are from the 1970’s, when Freeman was part of Magnum Photos, Inc., the premier photo agency of those years and a collaborative effort of its member photographers.
Freeman was inspired to develop this collection by Henri Cartier Pissant’s book, Decisive Moment, and the work of his friend and mentor, Burk Uzzle.
